The Foundation was contracted by the Government of the Philippines through its Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) to support the implementation of the Second Agrarian Reform Communities Project (ARCPII).
The impact of this project was to enable agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) to reduce poverty and have sustained improvements in incomes and quality of life. The main outcome of the project includes improved capabilities and well being of poor and marginalized groups in the target communities. This outcome is to be realized through an integrated and complementary package of interventions in:
- Community-driven development (CDD),
- Agricultural and enterprise development (AED),
- Sustainable rural infrastructure (SRI) development, and
- Project implementation and management (PIM).
The role of the Foundation is to assist DAR – ARMM, DAR provincial offices, Local Government Units and Agrarian Reform Communities in the effective implementation of the project by providing advisory support services.
For this purpose, the Foundation has entered into a joint venture partnership with a private consulting company and assembled a team of advisors, technical specialists and community development officers who are based across ARMM, Davao City, Zamboanga City and Manila to capacitate counterpart officials and communities in successfully completing the ARCPII in ARMM.
