Hineleban Hosts Verification Visit of RVO at Tuminugan Farm

Michiel Slotema of De Rijksdienst voor Ondernemend Nederland (RVO.nl) visits to verify the sites of the proposed project entitled: “Partnership for Sustainable Water Supply: Ridge to Coast, Rain to Tap”. The project which aims to ensure sustainable water supply in Cagayan de Oro City (CDO) has three substantive components, namely: a) Reduced risk of flooding through integrated river basin management; b) Climate resilient and improved management of water supply infrastructure; and c) Improved water, sanitation and hygiene conditions in flood resettlement sites. The project was designed to safeguard CDO from constant flooding due to degradation of forests and lands upstream.  The discussion also focused on Hineleban’s approach and methodology on ecosystem conservation and livelihood development especially for the indigenous people living in and around the mount ranges of Kitanglad and Kalatungan. The proponents of  the project are: The Cagayan de Oro River Basin Management Council (CDORBMC), Unifrutti-Hineleban, Wet Lands International (WI), Vitens Evides International B.V. (VEI), Cagayan de Oro Water District (COWD), FRRL Industrial Trading Corp (FRRL), and Netherlands Red Cross (NLRC). VEI is the lead proponent of the Project. Representatives of the above mentioned partners visits on the model farms of Hineleban Foundation. Photos during the visit are shown below:
